Chapter 4

Gary’s eyes darted around calculatingly. He directed the bodyguards to surround and restrain me.

“Miss Charlotte is right. We must teach you a good lesson today to show you that the Lynn family is not to be trifled with!”

I tried to struggle, but Gary slapped me hard across the face, reopening wounds that had just stopped bleeding.

In the past, no one had dared to hit me. I was the Lynn family’s treasured jewel, protected in the palm of their hand.

But today alone, I had been slapped more times than I could count.

This was no longer just physical pain, but a mental humiliation. My heart was filled with resentment.

Seeing this, Charlotte sauntered over to me and crouched down, her face full of malice.

“The Lynn family’s dignity cannot be violated. As the future daughter-in-law of the richest man, I must punish you properly for your lies.”

She shoved the scalpel into my mouth and twisted it around. Blood instantly filled my throat, the pain nearly unbearable.

My vision gradually blurred. I recalled the feeling of being on the brink of death in my previous life.

Just as I was about to despair, I suddenly heard the door being pushed open.

Then my father’s voice rang out:

“What’s going on here?”
